Laminate to Granite with Paint

by Deborah Chene on 01/25/11

In Southeast Michigan there can be no doubt that Granite is the countertop of choice.  Not everyone preparing a home for sale can invest in granite.  A great alternative is to paint the laminate with Giani Granite paint.  It comes in kits and is great for a do it yourself project.  I would recommend this for bathrooms and powder rooms.  Make sure the laminate is in good shape to begin with.  I first heard about the paint from  Teknicolors Paints in Farmington Hills, but you can go to the Giani web site for stores in your area.  http://www.gianigranite.com/index.html

Granite is the top choice, but this is a great alternative when your budget won't allow countertop replacement.
